My skincare favorites

Ahhhh! It’s been too, too long. School has kept me so busy and I wasn’t feeling inspired or creative. Summer has helped me relax and regain some creativity, so, without further ado, let’s get into this post!

Skincare is one of my favorite things. Ever. Second to makeup, but a very close second. I’ve always had very bumpy, uneven skin. In middle school it got worse, so I worked on my skin. I started washing it (WOW) and using moisturizer. Throughout the years, my skincare has gotten more and more complicated, meaning my skin has actually gotten much better. These are my all time favorite products that I use everyday!

This stuff is the best. Every time I run out of this soap I swear that my skin rebels against me. It’s super good for your skin and is 95% natural.

I just recently got this scrub at the store, and omg, it has cleared my skin up so nicely. It’s super grainy and gets into your pores to deep clean them. I’m in love.

I really love this soap. It’s also very natural and leaves your skin feeling amazing! It’s a little more on the expensive side, but I ordered a huge thing of it so that it will last me a while. It is also meant to get every last drop of makeup off of your skin, which is amazing and super useful.

THIS MOISTURIZER. It has salicylic acid in it, meaning it gets rid of acne and textured skin. I got the Walmart brand, however, the name brand is Clean and Clear.

This cream is great. It also has the salicylic acid in it, making it amazing to clear up your face.

Masks are one of my favorite things. This one is from CVS and it’s really nice to relax in. It’s meant to deep clean your skin and purify.

This mask is so cool. It bubbles up on your face, making you look like you have foam covering your skin. It feels amazing when taken off and it’s overall just a fun experience.

So, this isn’t technically skincare, however, it is what I use for sunscreen on my face everyday. It has light coverage, but it’s incredible.

Okay, well, thanks for reading up about my favorite skincare products! I hope you enjoyed and can go out and get you some of these products because they are amazing! See you Sunday!

Yes to cleanser-

St. Ives scrub-

Philosophy Purity soap-

Equate moisturizer-

Clearasil 5 in 1- It’s possible that this isn’t even a thing anymore, however, they have these pads that would be similar!

October Favorites//Things I have been Loving

This month is the start to a new series- Monthly Favorites!! I will be posting about the things I have been loving each month to let you guys know what some amazing beauty products are! These will include many items ranging from makeup to food and everything in between. I hope you enjoy reading about my October favorites!

Blending Brush .jpg

This first brush is an amazing brush for blending and smudging. I got it in Ipsy a while ago, but I have recently been using it a lot.

This is the Elf Powder Brush. I haven’t really used a lot of other powder brushes so I can’t compare it to others, but I think that this one is okay. The only downside is that the handle has broken and it can now be considered a travel brush…

This is a Crown Brush that I use to make my highlight ON FLEEK… Sorry. Anyways, I received this brush in my Ipsy bag (Surprise, surprise.) It is a great brush for highlighter and maybe even blush!

One of my all time favorite “brushes” is my Beauty Blender. It’s an off brand one from TJ Maxx, but it still works wonders. It’s my favorite way to apply my foundation or BB Cream.

Bronzer Brush .jpg

This last brush is another one from TJ Maxx. It’s so nice to put on my bronzer because it applies it in a very nice line.

This is the Ole Henriksen Perfect Truth CC Eye Créme. It is my absolute all time favorite concealer because it has fantastic coverage. It does crease a little bit, but baking would fix that problem.

This is another fabulous concealer that I have been loving this October. It has a lighter pigment to it so it for sure is better for highlighting under the eyes or for my winter tone. This is a lower coverage concealer, however it does not crease a lot at all.

My favorite eyeshadow this month has been from the Naked Palette. It has three different matte shades and nine different sparkly shades. All of them are SO beautiful and go together very nicely.

This is my ALL time favorite matte powder to use. It is the ELF Translucent Mattifying powder. Because it is ELF, it is super cheap, making it even better in my books.

My favorite eyeliner this month has been the Colour Pop Créme Gel Liner. This is great for lining my waterline because it is SUPER pigmented.

My new all time favorite mascara is the Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara. I received this mini sized mascara in a holiday set (Review coming up soon!) and I have been wearing it everyday since. It gives my lashes so much volume and black color. I completely recommend splurging on this mascara.

This has been a lip color that I have been loving this month. It is the Too Faced Melted Chocolate Liquid Long Wear Lipstick in the color “Chocolate Milkshake”. It is a very pretty, deep brown color with hints of red and pink. It has a delicious, chocolate smell to it.

This has been a longtime favorite of mine. It is The Balm Meet Matt(e) Hughes Long-Lasting Liquid Lipstick in “Committed”. It dries to a beautiful, redish-pink tone that almost immediately dries to a matte. It also smells super minty.

Lip liner.jpg

My favorite lip liner has been the bareMinerals Marvelous Moxie Lipliner in “Exhilarated”. It matches both of the lip colors I have been loving although they are not too similar. It blends very nicely with the colors I have chosen to swipe onto my lips.

My favorite blush, bronzer, and highlighter have been the ones in my Too Faced Christmas in New York set. They are all SO pigmented and the highlighter has beautiful sparkles to it that show up beautifully on the cheek bones.

Nail Polish:

This nail polish has been one of my absolute favorites this month. It’s a China Glaze in the color “Meet Me in the Mirage.” It’s a very redish gold tone that makes a super pretty accent nail or a fun color for all nails.

This has been another one of my favorites recently. It’s another China Glaze in the color “What’s the Dune?” It is a beautiful tan/caramel color that has been amazing for the beginning of fall.

This last nail polish is a Claire’s (Yeah… I know) matte coat that I have been using for the sake of not having any other matte coats. It actually works surprisingly well and, hey, I got it for a dollar.

My last favorite this month has been some simple diamond stud earrings. I got these at JC Penny on sale with a coupon for less than a dollar. They are the perfect addition to any fall outfit.

Thank you so much for reading! I hope you enjoyed reading about all of my favorites. If you have any questions leave them down below. Get ready for a new post next weekend! Have a great week.

Easy Halloween Party Snacks

The Halloween season is finally here, and I decided to throw a small party with some of my friends. The main focus was the food, like always. I decided to make some cute fall treats that we could snack on throughout the night. I had some help from my friend, Audrey, who helped me to photograph the foods we made! It was so much fun and I hope you enjoy reading about these delicious snacks. (Audrey’s Blog)

Rice Creepy Treats:

The things you will need for these deliciously creepy treats are:

  • Rice Krispies
  • Rolos
  • M&Ms
  • Marshmallows
  • Orange Food coloring (Lot’s of it… I recommend the gel kind.)

To make the Rice Creepy treats, I started off by following the directions on the back of the Rice Krispies box. I added my marshmallows to a large pan with 3 tablespoons of butter and waited for it to melt completely.

Once it had melted, I took my food coloring and added it to the marshmallows. I will admit that it took a lot of food coloring… In fact, I may or may not have used the ENTIRE thing of orange food coloring. However, the color was perfect after I used an extreme amount of food coloring.

After this was all mixed together, I added the Rice Krispies. I had used about one and a half bags of marshmallows, and the box stated there needed to be about 6 cups of Rice Krispies for one bag of marshmallows. I used about 8 cups of Rice Krispies which seemed to be about perfect. In the end, there were about 12 Rice Krispy Treats. rice-krispies-and-marsh

After the Rice Krispies were completely incorporated, I used some butter to try and keep the sticky marshmallows off of my hands as much as possible. I then proceeded to make the mixture into pumpkin-like shapes. This proved to be a bit difficult at first, but I soon figured out the faster I moved my hands, the less likely it was to stick to them. I soon had 12 round Rice Creepy Treats. This is where the Rolos and M&Ms come in. rolo-and-mm

I placed the Rolos on top of the treats, then added the little M&M leaf. This was the last step to these super simple, adorable Rice Creepy Treats.

Berry Scary Strawberry Mousse:

Strawberry Whipped Cream .jpg

For this yummy treat, you will need:

  • Strawberries
  • Chocolate Cups (Not shown in the picture, but I found mine at Walmart.)
  • Heavy Whipping Cream
  • (I did not end up making a gram cracker crust, but you can if you like!)
  • Marshmallows (Once again, I did not take a picture of these, but I used the leftover ones from the Rice Krispy Treats.)

The first step was to take my whipping cream and pour it into a mixer. I then beat it on high until it looked like whipped cream that I would find in a can.

I then cut up some strawberries, and added them to the whipped cream. (Remember to fold them in, not stir.)

I also added some food coloring that reminded me of halloween. After I scooped them into the chocolate cups, I realized they needed something to make then fun and halloweeny. I had some leftover marshmallows, so I put some little dollops of food coloring on them in the form of a ghost face. They turned out super cute and were the only foods at the party that were gone by the end!

Monster Mash:

For this fun, colorful food, the list is:

  • Milk Chocolate Chips
  • Sprinkles
  • Various candy (I recommend M&Ms and various candy bar pieces.)

The first thing I did to make this food was to melt the chocolate chips. I simply used the microwave, but you can always melt them on the stove.

The next step is to spread the chocolate onto a piece of wax paper. This part is extremely satisfying, and as Audrey said “It’s liquid gold.”

Next, I cut up some Milky Way and Three Musketeers bars. They looked amazing when they were cut up… Here’s a picture.

The last step was to sprinkle the M&Ms and candy all over the melted chocolate. Once it dried, I broke it all up into pieces using a hammer… Yes, I know… Weird. These were delicious little pieces of sugar.

Scaramel Corn:

For the “Scaramel Corn”, you will need:

  • Butter Popcorn
  • Caramel (I burnt the Almond Bark and was forced to use caramel… I’m honestly glad because it was amazing.)
  • Candy Corn

The first step to making this yummy popcorn was to pop the bags of popcorn. I just followed the directions on the back of the box and poured it all into a big, adorable bowl I got at the dollar store.

The next step was to melt the caramel. I got some caramel pieces then melted them in a pot over medium heat with some milk.

The last step was just to pour the caramel and the candy corn over the popcorn a little at a time and mix! It ended up being a sticky, yummy bowl of popcorn. We ate about half of it and I have eaten some more today. It was so good.

Thank you so much for reading! I hope you enjoyed the mouthwatering photos and the great recipes! I am so sorry about the lack of posts. I will try to be more consistent!! See you next week.

August 2016~ Ipsy Bag

Each month I receive an Ipsy bag. This is a fantastic subscription bag that is sent directly to your house for $10 a month. The bags contain five items that are almost always high end and always worth the small price of $2 for each item. I am going to be starting a new series on my blog all about what I receive in each bag and how expensive each item is originally. This will be the first of many to come! Enjoy.

It Cosmetics Eyeliner- $22 for the full size (.05 oz more)
Marc Anthony Nourishing Argan Oil Conditioning Treatment- $2.99

Beaute Basics Bronzer- $8 on Poshmark, a website similar to ebay (I could not find it on the website of the actual product brand.)

Jelly Pong Pong Neopolitan Palette- $17.95

Ciate Nailpolish in Spinning Teacup- $15

Overall, the best deal was either the eyeliner or the palette. This month’s Ipsy was not my favorite, however, the bag was amazing. Thank you for reading!

School Supply DIY’s: Before and After

Every summer, when I get school supplies, I realize they’re either plain and boring or ridiculously overpriced. Almost every year, I do a little something to spruce up my supplies. This gets me more excited for the school year, while making my school supplies more unique and interesting. This year, I decided to take some pictures and write a blog post about it! So, enjoy my before and after of my school supplies.

I got a super simple pencil case from the Bethany Mota collection at Target. I also got some patches from Joann Fabrics to spice it up a little.
This is the finished product, which turned out pretty cute!

I just got some simple notebooks from Target, and decided to make them a little more interesting.
I also got some rub on transfers from Bethany Mota’s collection to add to the corners of my notebooks.
I simply cut out the transfer, then peeled off the backing and stuck it to the notebook in the place I wanted it. I then took something flat to rub the transfer onto the notebook.
Lastly, I took some mod podge and put this over the notebook to secure the transfer.
This is the finishd product, which I think is adorable.

The last supply I did a small DIY on were my folders. I got these folders with pockets from, of course, Target. I thought the pockets would be useful for me to decorate the folder, and I was right! I simply got some clearance stickers from a craft store and added them to the little pocket in the front.
They ended up looking very cute!

So, thank you for reading my blog post all about back to school, which, no matter how hard we try, we can’t avoid. See you next weekend!

How to Survive: Your Family Reunion

If you saw my earlier tweet, then you know that last weekend I was at a family reunion. There were many, many times in the first few days when I thought, “Wow. I have to blog about this.” Sometimes it was because something was funny, other times it was because I wanted to help you guys survive the situation I was in. So, without further ado, here are some things I have compiled to help you survive your next family reunion.

Life Hacks:

These are some life hacks I have put together to help your reunion go a little more smoothly.

1.Forgetting things

Let me tell you, you will forget something. Whether it be a makeup product, brush, or clothing item; these are some ways you can make things or live without items you do not have.

  • Concealer~ Mix lotion (Face moisturizer is the best option because lotion made for the body can cause acne breakouts, or allergic reactions.) and powder together to create a very light coverage, but working, concealer.
  • Mascara~ Using eyeliner as mascara is super easy and it actually works… Extremely well. Although liquid works the best, sticking a pencil or auto eyeliner in your bra to warm it or running it under warm water could make it liquidy enough to get a good layer of black on your lashes.
  • Highlighter/bronzer~ This is pretty obvious, but using a dark eyshadow as bronzer and a light, shimmery eyeshadow is an easy way to get a nice chiseled face and a fabulous, glowy face.
  • Eyebrow gel/powder~ Using chapstick as eyebrow gel has been a well known thing for a while now. It helps to keep your brows in line while also not being too greasy. Another use for eyeshadow is to use it for brow powder. Finding a shadow that really matches your hair color can work better than some eyebrow powders; especially if it has a really creamy texture.
  • Lipstick~ Using a nice, pigmented eyeshadow and a chapstick is a great way to add color to your lips.
  • Brushes~ Use a cotton swab to apply eyeshadow, lip gloss, and even eyeliner! You can use the fluffy part for eyeshadow or lips, and you can take the fluffy part off to line your eyes and lips.
  • Eyeliner~ As I am typing this, my mom is sitting next to me. We were discussing different uses for makeup products and she said that she once used mascara for eyeliner. I thought “Wow… Sounds… Impossible?” I then realized that using an angled brush, or cotton swab, and dipping it into the mascara would be the perfect eyeliner!
  • Brush~ It’s honestly so easy to just put some mousse and hairspray in your hair and call it good! You can also just put it in a simple fishtail or normal braid.

2.Getting away from someone who is annoying you

  • Have a hiding spot ready~ Get a good, secretive spot where you can hide out in case of emergencies. During my family reunion, I stayed in my grandparents’ camper, which I found to be a fantastic hiding spot.
  • Make up an excuse~ I always say something like, “I am so tired, I’m going to go lay down for a bit,” or “I’m hungry! I’m gonna go get some food.” These will not hurt their feelings, but also get the point across.

3.How to fall asleep faster

  • The 4-7-8 technique~ 4 second inhale, 7 second hold, 8 second release, repeat.
  • Eat foods with melatonin~ Foods like almonds, apples, cherries, bananas, and many more. These foods will help you to fall asleep easier and faster.
  • Try smelling lavender oil~ This is proven to help you fall asleep faster. The lavender helps to sooth you and calms you into a deep sleep.

What to pack:

  • Clothes to get dirty~ This may only apply to my family, but our reunions are on farms in small towns where there are ponds and mud around. These clothes are a life saver for me.
  • Nice clothes (dresses, skirts, etc.)~ These are always handy for dinners, or special occasions you go to during the reunion. Make sure you pack enough of these clothes, otherwise you will have to find a Walmart to get a cheap, but cute dress.
  • Makeup~ If you’re like me, you get no sleep, but you still want to look okay during the day. Makeup is a fantastic thing. Use it!

Car Ride:

Although my car ride wasn’t too long, it was still a bit boring. Here are some things you can do during the ride to cure your boredom.

  • Listen to a Podcast~ I completely recommend listening to Not Too Deep with Grace Helbig. She interviews YouTubers with interesting, pointless questions. Basically, if you are obsessed with YouTube like me, you will love this Podcast.
  • Listen to music~ My all time FAVORITE album is the Blue Neighborhood album by Troye Sivan. It’s relaxing while not being too mellow. Here’s a link to the Spotify album:
  • Color in an adult coloring book~ This is my absolute favorite coloring book. It’s adorable…img_9117

 Bonus: Funny Stories:

  1. I was in my grandparents camper doing my makeup. I was almost through my routine, (Post of it coming soon!) when I grabbed out my chapstick. I took off the lid which flew out of my fingers and into the air. It bounced around a few times then landed. In the toilet. My mom later fished it out of the toilet and threw it away. I still have the chapstick with no lid…
  2. While we were eating dinner, some people started a water balloon fight. We specifically told them to keep it away from the area where everyone was eating. Of course, my cousin who is always annoying (Well, not always) decided to chuck it into that area. It hit my mom’s plate of food, knocking it down into her lap and bursting on us both. After that, we kept away from the balloons.

Thank you so much for reading! Be sure to follow my blog, like, and comment down below when/if you have a family reunion! Thanks for reading!

10 Steps to a Better You This Summer!

This summer, I have really thought about my health and happiness in general. I have realized that working out, eating healthy, and being productive, do not only help me to stay fit, but they also make me feel happier! Now, don’t get me wrong, I have days (many…) where I sit around on my phone. Although this is fine, I always seem to feel sluggish and, overall, not my best self. These 10, easy steps will help you to feel your best while you are enjoying the summer.

Whenever I exercise in the day, whether it be night or morning, I always seem to feel so much better. Whether I run, do some conditioning, or yoga, I always feel more energized and better overall. Now, let’s be real. I hate running. It makes me feel like I am going to collapse right there on the ground. Although I hate it, I usually force myself to run often to keep up my endurance. Conditioning is another workout I dislike a lot… Afterwards, I always seem to feel extremely weak. Once again, although I dislike it, I do it often to make me “stronger”. Yoga is something I enjoy a lot! It makes me feel SO relaxed, although I feel a bit stupid while doing it around others. If you are looking for some great beginner yoga, check out this video:

2.Eat less sugar

Whenever I eat a ton of sugar, I always feel bad for eating it, and tired overall. Eating less sugar each day will help you to feel better about yourself and your health. One tip that I have would be to not keep any good sugar around. If you don’t have good candy, or any good desserts around, you won’t feel the need to eat them after each and every meal.

3.Drink more water

Whenever I don’t drink water throughout the day, I notice a big difference in my energy levels. One great thing you can do is to keep an adorable water bottle around! This will get you motivated to drink more h2o!
4.Do what you need to do

This one is pretty self explanatory and obvious, but DON’T procrastinate! Do all of your work you need to do so you don’t have any later. This will help you to not stress and enjoy a relaxing summer.

5.Stay organized

Have you ever noticed that in the summer you become super disorganized? Because me too. I notice that I cannot find things I’m looking for, or that my room is usually a disaster. Staying organized can also help you to have and enjoy a stress free summer. One tip I have to stay organized is to clean your room weekly. This will keep your life a little cleaner, as well as your room.

6.Get outside

Take advantage of the warmth! Get outside and enjoy summer. Chances are, whatever you need to do could most likely be done outside! Being outside helps me to feel less tired and a lot more happy.

7.Sleep, sleep, sleep

Summer should be a time for rest, fun, and maybe a little work. Make sure that you catch up on some good Z’s before the school year starts again! This will help you to feels better overall and more ready to conquer the summer ahead of you.

8.Get a great summer playlist

Summer is my absolute favorite time to listen to some fun, upbeat tunes. They help me to do all of the things I need to do, while also having a good time listening to music! I don’t quite have a great summer playlist yet, but I will inform you when I do. The link for my Spotify is at the bottom of my homepage! (WARNING will have multiple Troye Sivan songs.)

9.Get some cute summer clothes

Summer clothes are the actual best. They are bright, fun, and overall super cute. Whenever I don’t know what to do, or I’m bored, I go shopping for some good summer clothes! I totally recommend grabbing some cute, summer dresses, shirts, and shorts. This will help you to get into the summer mindset, and have an amazing summer.

10.Change things up a bit

Whether it be in your room, house, or even your style, change something about your life! I always find that during the school year I have no time to change anything, but during the summer I always find myself wanting to change things! Change can be a great thing to get you ready for the summer, and put off the school year blues.

Thank you for reading! Be sure to like, follow, and comment down below if you have done anything I mentioned above this summer! Have a great summer!
